Welcome to the website of the Cromwell Group of Endurance GB, the governing body for competitive long distance riding in

Our region, covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire and our aim is to provide as much information and support for both existing members of the group or for anyone interested in trying out Endurance riding for the first time and thinking of joining either our local group or the national society.
As a group we regularly organise a wide range of activities including Training/Pleasure rides and Competitive rides as well as non riding events such as Barbeques, Treasure Hunts, Quiz Nights and talks about the sport and its recent developments.
Being one of several groups in the East and East Midlands we work closely with our colleagues from neighbouring EGB groups at all levels. This extends to us helping in the selection and organising a joint team of riders of all levels of ability to compete in the Inter-Regional Championships each year.
During the winter months we also have an active Dressage for Endurance Riders series, to help keep riders and horses fit.

Our Committee meets regularly to plan the rides and event calendars and are always looking for input from members who would like to either take an active role on the committee or to organise a social function for the group.

Endurance is one of the fastest growing equestrian disciplines in this country. Almost any type of Horse or Pony can take part. There are three main types of ride in the sport.
1. Training/Pleasure Rides
2. Competitive Rides
3. Endurance Rides.

Inter Regional Team - 2012
To: All Iceni, Cromwell, Leicester and Rutland Endurance Riders
This year the Inter Regional Team event is being held at Cirencester Park on 14th and 15th July 2012. We need riders in all categories from novice riders and horses through to advanced combinations to cover all of the distances. Joining the team or taking part in the selection process gives a real opportunity to gain valuable advice from the organisers, the professionals supporting the team, and from other team members. If you are a Novice rider and want to meet fellow riders from your area and learn more about endurance this may be exactly what you are looking for. More advanced endurance riders also gain from the experience and for everyone it brings a great sense of purpose and fulfilment by working with the rest of the team. .
If you are interested in taking part please could you send me your full contact details (copied to both Heather Weston and Larissa Whiley) including name, address, mobile number and email. Could you also send details of your horse and your ride plans for the 2012 season.
This year we are inviting those of you interested in joining the team, and at least one of your crew, to come to a horseless training day being run by Brigid Fairman and Peggy Sofley at Troston Village Hall (near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk) on Saturday February 11th and a ridden training day, in May (venue to be confirmed).
Team selection will be made on ride results plus a selection ride at Wimpole Way on Sunday June 17th.
It would be great to hear from anyone who is interested and if you are not sure please do call for a chat. Anyone who does decide to put themselves forward to join the team needs to enter the ride.
