Welcome to the website of the Cromwell Group of Endurance GB, the governing body for competitive long distance riding in
Great Britain.
Our region, covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire and our aim is to provide as much information and support for both existing members of the group or for anyone interested in trying out Endurance riding for the first time and thinking of joining either our local group or the national society.
As a group we regularly organise a wide range of activities including Training/Pleasure rides and Competitive rides as well as non riding events such as Barbeques, Treasure Hunts, Quiz Nights and talks about the sport and its recent developments.
Being one of several groups in the East and East Midlands we work closely with our colleagues from neighbouring EGB groups at all levels. This extends to us helping in the selection and organising a joint team of riders of all levels of ability to compete in the Inter-Regional Championships each year.
During the winter months we also have an active Dressage for Endurance Riders series, to help keep riders and horses fit.
For information on all of our forthcoming Rides and events see our Rides and Events Section.
Our Committee meets regularly to plan the rides and event calendars and are always looking for input from members who would like to either take an active role on the committee or to organise a social function for the group.
See our Committee Members page for names and contact details.
Endurance is one of the fastest growing equestrian disciplines in this country. Almost any type of Horse or Pony can take part. There are three main types of ride in the sport.
1. Training/Pleasure Rides
2. Competitive Rides
3. Endurance Rides.
For further information on these, horse and rider qualification, ride rules etc see our About Endurance page.

New Impulsion Magazine now Online
The third issue of Impulsion, the official magazine of Equestrian Team GBR, is now online at www.impulsiononline.com
Inside you will find an eclectic mix of articles and stunning photography as well as exclusive details on Team GBR Ontrack which officially launches this July in partnership with the equestrian Olympic and Paralympic teams via British Eventing and their Gold Medal Club, the British Show Jumping Association and British Dressage.
Team GBR Ontrack will be open to riders and non-riders of all ages and will help to improve the enjoyment of being around, owning and competing horses with the specific aim of raising the profile of equestrian sport in the UK and the funds needed to help potential medal winners train, compete, and achieve their goals.
There is also the usual great mix of features including an interview with infamous equestrian stunt specialist, Vic Armstrong; a fashion shoot with World Class Development rider Lara Griffiths; The Pony Club celebrating their 80th anniversary and an insight into a unique African Safari.
As promised, since the last issue, there has been some work behind the scenes so the quality of the magazine is simply stunning. Pictures are crisper, type is easier to read and there is added zoom in functionality. There is also a new picture gallery, which includes a selection of our favourite shots including those from Badminton 2009.
We recommend that new visitors to Impulsion read the 'How to use VCAB' guide in the top menu bar of the magazine to get some handy hints and tips on reading Impulsion.
We hope you enjoy the new issue and that it inspires you to join Team GBR Ontrack – register now to receive priority joining information as soon as it is available and to be in with chance of winning our fantastic competition.
